Achievements

In 1995, the heads of several social security institutions in ASEAN took the first bold step of putting their minds together, with the aim of maximizing all efforts towards the achievement of progressive and sustainable social security protection within the region. Today, ASSA continues to move with even greater strides and higher aspirations in the New Millennium.

Some of the major achievements of ASSA are:

  • Compilation of the Social Security Profiles in ASEAN Countries

  • Compilation of Social Security Schemes of ASSA Member Countries

  • Compilation of the Good Practices of ASSA Member Institutions

Aspirations

In the New Millennium, greater challenges await ASSA. It shall, with all certainty, play an increasingly dynamic and pivotal role in the development of social security protection in the ASEAN region. The launch of the ASSA website on September, 2000, marked another milestone that would foster greater and closer exchange of experiences and promote mutual co-operation among ASSA member countries and institutions.
